Thank you sparkey and halftrek for your well wishes. Hubby goes to the specialist tomorrow, so we will find out then how bad this really is and how long it will take to heal. Thanks to everyone else who answered my questions.

When you hubby's W/C claim is approved, he will be paid compensation at a % of what his wages were. If the claim is not approved, then an appeal can be filed. As far as to whom paiys the family health ins, in my case, I paid a portion for ins. out of my paychecks, when I was off work after being injured I had to still give my employer my portion of the health ins payment. When I wasn't employed any longer, I was given the Cobra option, which I pay now. I would think that if his employer paid for the health ins, that they will continue. It would be best to ask there HR person about that. Welcome to the board and good luck.
Take care
Vickie

If you can no longer afford your group health ins policy but need to keep it for your disabled child, you might look at converting the family plan to an individual plan for you autistic child.

I had to do this when my insurance premiums went to $2,500.00 the individual plan was $98.00 a month.

My 9 yr old son has PDD NOS.

Just to update, Hubby went to dr today, he thinks the bicep is torn. He is ordering an MRI to make sure. Dr told him that if it is torn they only have 3 weeks from the date of the injury to do the sugery. Is this true? Does anyone know or have you heard this? If it is true we only have 10 days in which to do everything. Right now we are waiting on WC to approve the MRI.
Will keep you posted when we know more.
