my job got thretned(SP) - sis249 - 05-13-2007 02:50 PM Well I went to work friday with the new restriction that I had to be no more than 50 ft from the bathroom and when I saw my boss he told me to wait while he sat up where I was supose to be. I told him my restrictions and he said that he never saw them and I told him that I had them and HR was suppose to email him and then he said my restrictions got changed and I said well no one called me and told me. well he told me to go wait in the break room while he talked to some one and in the mean time i called the ER and they told me that if the ER doctor changed my restrictions then I would have to come back and get a sheet from him. so I called the lady that is handling every thing in the ER and left a message. in the meantime the guy that told me the lies came and talked to me he got real hate full and asked me if i was refusing to work and i said no . That i was just going by my doctors orders. well come to find out my doctor said as long as they let me use a weelchair to go to the bathroom its ok. well this guy got all mad and told me to leave and i said no. then I asked him why he lied to me. he said i better watch my mouth or I would be out of there for good. I dont know what I said wrong and then I asked him what kind of man is he if he could not tell me why he lied to me and he just stormed off. well i found out that monday i have pt and tuesday morning i have an MRI. this is the second time someone from HR has yelled at me cause of my injury. should i tell my attorney? oh by the way HAPPY MOTHERS DAY LADIES!!!!
RE: my job got thretned(SP) - Still in Limbo - 05-13-2007 03:16 PM ABSOLUTELY!!! These so called bosses have no right to make you feel uncomfortable or uneasy about your injury. If it were me when he told me to leave, I would of said can I have that in writing? These people need to be disciplined for their rude and unfeeling behavior, and your attorney needs to be involved in every aspect of your troubles. Don't let these people get away with treating you in that manner!! Makes sure to do everything in your power to have these people brought to terms for their behavior!!
RE: my job got thretned(SP) - red1030 - 05-13-2007 03:49 PM Hi sis...I agree 100% with Limbo...even if YOU had made a huge mistake and it cost the company lots of money, no body has the right to talk to you like that. In this case, all you did was get injuried at work and that is not a crime. If it were me, I would call my lawyer in the morning and let him or her know about your experience. I don't see it getting better for you so he needs to help get it undercontrol. Under no circumstances should you ever say that you don't want to work, and only work when it is in your restrictions. Maybe that is what the boss is doing, trying to intimidate you so that you feel so demoralized that you do not think straight and do something that will only hurt you. Be careful. I hate it when I hear about bosses who treat their employees like they are dirt. Just something to step on. I can tell you from experience that your boss is only a boss by name. He has no power with the people, not if he treats them this way. He is not a leader or even a manger for that fact. A leader shows an ability to lead through influencing others to do there job just because they want to not because they have been told to do it. There are some good and caring bosses out there, however, lately I have been hearing more and more about bosses like the one you have. I am so sorry you are experiencing this. Just keep telling youself that the boss is in the wrong and not you. That you were hurt and he owes you some respect and caring for being a person never mind that you got hurt in his company. Now in my mind he owes you so much more for your pain and suffering. However we all know that W/C IC does not pay for pain and suffering, but as a boss who realizes that his employee is suffering and is not being reimbursed for it, should even give more care and respect to that person who is hurt. I guess the world just doesn't work the way I think it should. My prayers will be with you especially tommorrow when you go to work. RE: my job got thretned(SP) - Babebahn - 05-13-2007 03:55 PM HECK YA...call you attorney ASAP! Sorry this happened to you. In the meantime,if anyone calls, take notes document the time and who called. Good luck with the attorney and PT & MRI RE: my job got thretned(SP) - punk - 05-13-2007 08:02 PM Absolutely, positively....FIRST thing tomorrow morning contact your attorney and let him know about the treatment you're receiving from your employer and your so called bosses!!!! That is totally and completely unacceptable. Also, I would consider calling the labor board. They may take issue on this as well. Another thing, the WC board would also like to know this as well. Since you have an attorney, I'm guessing that your WC IC won't talke to you about anything....so do it through your attorney and any other place you can think of!! This is not right and they know it...they're just trying to see what they can get by with and you need to let them know you aren't putting up with their BS and not going away easily, nor are you stupid on what you should and shouldn't do!! I'm glad you refused to let them bully you. Don't let their piss ant ways get you down...you have resources, use them. Then they'll know just how much you will and won't take from them! I also don't think it would be a bad idea if you asked your attorney to inform them that he's been made aware of their treatment towards you and that he's watching and will do whatever is necessary to make it stop. He can do this so that it sounds like what they are doing is illegal and maybe even scare them a bit!!! LOL Take care and keep your chin up!!!! We're here for ya!! RE: my job got thretned(SP) - Spring - 05-13-2007 08:34 PM Sis....I am so sorry to hear you are going throught this aweful nightmare at work. Just my insight...but sounds like your boss is trying to get you to quit...that way you will not get any money. Have to say I am so PROUD of you for standing your ground and not backing down to the jerk....but it just has to be draining you. Just as the others have said talk with your attroney. I was wondering if the company you work for has a corpate office someone else that you and your attroney could be talking to about the abuse you are getting at work. Because I think you are getting abused or something along the line of punished becaused you have a on the job injury. ANd your boss is needs a quick class on how to learn to treat an injuried employee..because I think he could be in some big trouble for what he is doing....but you really needs some proof..it is really hard to proof he said...I said...situations. Maybe you could tell your boss that you need to tape record all conversations because you are having so many misunderstanding between the two of you...and that way you there just can't be no misunderstandings. The tape recording might just put a stop to him thinking his poo poo don't stink. Ask your attroney if you can do this. You sure need someone to intervne NOW. I wish you the best. Keep up the fight. You deserve the best...never forget that. We will be here to SUPPORT you. RE: my job got thretned(SP) - Bummer Knees - 05-13-2007 10:21 PM SIS249 I had a meeting with my Supervisor & HR last week, it did not go well. They kept showing me job openings that were out of my restrictions. Just one of the tricks some employeers play. The previous week my Supervisor had me convinced I needed to quit my job because I was unable to do my job duities due to my restrictions. I even called my attorney and asked him, "Should I quit my job?" He told me, no matter how bad it gets don't quit because you can't do the job, let them tell you that you can't do the job." Hang in there and good luck! RE: my job got thretned(SP) - red1030 - 05-14-2007 01:36 AM sis...I was up and I was thinking about you and about you returning to work in the morning. Please do not let them intimidate you....stand your ground on your restrictions to protect your health, but keep your head high during their rediculous behavior. You deserve better, but I don't think they are going to be kind after what they have already done. Just know it is not you...it is them that is acting badly. My prayers are with you. good night...sleep well...and don't worry about them, just act like you own the world...best wishes. Let us know how it went. RE: my job got thretned(SP) - Wink - 05-14-2007 03:29 AM Sis~ I agree with everyone here.  Just remember...if you wish to stop the devil in his tracks, just don't respond the way he hopes you will. RE: my job got thretned(SP) - Pooh - 05-14-2007 04:36 AM Sis Let your attorney know how you are being treated at work - Document, Document, Document - did I say that enough times!?!? Keep track of date, time, and who harrassed you because of your injury and also if there was any witnesses to the action - keep a copy for yourself and also forward this information to your attorney as well. If the attorney says that it is ok - then I would also contact corporate as well about this particular persons behavior. Stand your ground - you didn't ask to get hurt at work, all you are asking is that your injury get taken care of which they are taking way to long to do. |
