Denied claim - cmb72 - 06-09-2011 12:27 AM

I injured my back and was out of work for 4 months. Whenever I went back to work, they put me at a new job and was injured again. This time I hurt my knee. Someone moved an ergo mat that was around a workstation and I fell. I let my supervisor know; I did not even leave the area whenever I fell. I yelled for him to come over and check it out. He said that he would have it taken care of but, never did. I let other people know as well. No one ever fixed it. I was having my weekly check ups at the doctor regarding my back. I advised them that it had bothered my back again and irritated it. They never noted the fall. I did my job of reporting this injury and accident and my knee started getting worse. I contacted my employer and they finally got information to the insurance company. My employer told me that there was a miscommunication and everyone thought I must have been talking about my back. The insurance co.set up an investigation and no one seems to recall this. How ironic? I believe that are trying to cover themselves for not properly handling this. In the mean time the insurance company has denied the claim. I waited and waited for 2 months for the employer to get the paperwork together and 30 days for the insurance co. to do the investigation. I contacted my attorney and they said that there are options. They have already sent the adjustor a letter telling them that they represent me but, he still called me to say that he denied it.
