DEATH B4 SETTLEMENT - c1nthya - 12-18-2010 05:58 PM QUESTION: My life partner/roommate of 15 yrs. does everything for me Everything! I couldnt walk for 6 mos (both legs crushed at work). She did it all; paperwork for all agencies, all communications with attorney, doctors, PT, meds, drove, cooked, cleaned, washed, shopped, bathed, etc. Now, I've been diagnosed with Stage IV Colorectal Cancer (not related). If I die b4 I settle and if I name her in my will as my sole beneficiary can she continue with the suit? RE: DEATH B4 SETTLEMENT - jayne - 12-18-2010 07:31 PM most likely not.......however different states different rules....ask your lawyer... RE: DEATH B4 SETTLEMENT - 1171 - 12-18-2010 09:23 PM the issue is not whether you are dependent upon them. it's whether they can be considered your dependent. there is no one answer for every state. http://www.workerscompensation.com/forums/general/showthread.php?tid=10146 RE: DEATH B4 SETTLEMENT - 1171 - 12-18-2010 10:37 PM duplicate.
