FLORIDA QUESTION- DO I HAVE TO USE MY SICK LEAVE? - 0421 - 11-30-2010 05:56 PM

I slipped and fell at work and broke my tail bone. I will be out of work for four days per Doctors orders. My employer has notified W/C company. My question is: Can my employer make me use my sick leave for the four days, or do they have pay me and not charge my sick leave?

Florida's waiting period is 7 days, therefore you are not due payment for those days unless the doctor has you off for more than 21 days. So no they do not have to pay you and yes they can charge your sick leave.
