I have questions that need to be anwsered? - leadfoot44 - 10-08-2010 10:23 AM

I have been on comp for 9 years now.My lawyer I have was good for awhile but for the last 3 years he hasnt done anygood but grief. He has been letting the insurance carriers walk all over me and not doing his job.I was suppose to settle soon but now I get a letter from the comp board that the carrier is fileing bankrupt.Even though I have a aggravated trust fund set aside for me and has been that way for about 3 years now.court ordered. Its for the amount that is suppose to be for settlement.Thats just the begining of the problems I have had with this lawyer.I have went without meds for months because the carrier stopped paying for them.Called his office numerous times and said they were taking care of it and to find out they were not.Im not suppoe to contact the carrier at all but I had to to get my meds paid again. My checks stopped and yet again no help from the lawyer I got them started again.I dont know what to do.I trusted he was doing his job right but I feel he hasnt. This should been settled years ago.Been sittng here getting false promises from him.
My question is what can I do about this? I called the comlaint bureu, but have to wait for a complaint form to be mailed. Where do I go from here? Anyone else ever have these problem?

you forgot to ask those questions that needed to be answered.

P.S. you can change lawyers at any time. you can file a complaint with your state bar.

that's better.
glad you edited your post with questions and followed the previous information posted.

you want to know what to do while you wait for a complaint form:
go on line to your state bar. you didn't post your state so I can't help with a link.
there may be a complaint form on line.

you don't know how to find another atty:
while you are on the state bar website site look for public information. that will give you a link to lawyer referral information. follow the instructions to find an atty that specializes in workers comp in your state.

yes, other clients have had similar problems with their atty.
