Can I Take A Job Offer Out of State? - st. clare - 05-05-2010 08:28 PM California: Ok finally my attorney sent me a copy of the AME report that he has had since March. I am going to take it to my PCP appt this week to discuss options since the AME physician has put me at MMI. My attorney has not however; provided any information on the status of a settlement offer or when and if the WC insurance is going to pay my retroactive TTD benefits pay. I have repeatedly left voicemails and sent faxes regarding that but no response yet it has been over a month since asking that question. I am only currently receiving PPD reduced benefits which won't last and definitely does not pay the bills not even enough for the rent. I have been out of work for a year with an initially denied claim so no income for a greater part of that year and all resources used up. So my question is this: If my PCP will release me back to work within the restriction set by the AME physician, can I take a job out of state? I have had a couple phone interviews which have been really promising. If a job offer is made, I would have a job closer to family. So if I am released and a job offer is made but is out of state can I still take the job? How will that effect my claim other than finding a physician to take my work comp and notifying all parties of the job and new address? I was hoping to either have my retroactive TTD payments by now or have a settlement offer, but since that has not occurred I cannot afford to pass up an opportunity to earn an income. Again, pain and difficulty performing certain ADL's remains an issue, but people live and work with pain on a daily basis and this injury and WC experience has been and continues to be a nightmare, but I need to move on because I have no other option.
